Film enthusiasts, Film Lovers will have plenty to feast their eyes on in June thanks to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (GMCVB) Miami Film Month, sponsored by Citibank. From film festivals, producer panels, $8 movie tickets, and first-ever screenings at venues like New World’s Soundscape Miami, locals, and visitors will have plenty of choices to capture some of the best new and established talents in the film industry. “The film industry has been fascinated with Miami and The Beaches for years, and now more than ever our community is being sought out for its culturally-rich neighborhoods such as those featured in the Oscar-winning film Moonlight,” said GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert, III, CDME. “This June during Miami Film Month, the GMCVB will partner with the American Black Film Festival (ABFF), the largest in the nation, and the World OutGames Film Festival to shine a light on the progressive and exciting film industry flourishing in Miami.”

Film Lovers, FilmGate in partnership with the GMCVB present “The Producers Series – from Development to Distribution,” June 3, 10, 17 and 24, at the Downtown Media Center. This 4-week workshop will guide you to low-budget film producing for emerging and professional producers. Film Lovers aimed at fiction and documentary producers who want to increase their knowledge of producing and even co-producing. Learn from award-winning producers like Casper Andreas (Flatbush Luck), Andrew Hevia (Moonlight), Ana Serrano (Canadian Film Centre) and Caroline Waterlow (O.J.: Made in America) and more. The GMCVB and Film Lovers is proud to partner and welcomes the following film festivals dedicated to showcasing diversity and equality through the art of film.

American Black Film Festival (ABFF) – June 14-18. An annual event dedicated to showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent, and supporting emerging artists to diversify the images and storytellers working in the entertainment industry. World OutGames IV – May 26 – June 4. The 10-day event will welcome thousands of participants who will enjoy over 450 events throughout Miami Beach, including a Film Festival featuring FREE screenings of international works at local art cinemas throughout the city. For more details click here.
