MUSCLE BEACH GETS A FACELIFT

You dont have to join a gym to get a great full body workout anymore! We recently gave our outdoor fitness equipment at Lummus Park a serious upgrade. The state of the art equipment was designed by Metalco to provide the best in aesthetics and functionality for the residents and visitors of Miami Beach to enjoy. It features over 30 different workout components from pull up bars, punching bag, battle ropes, and more!
It has been over a month since the terrible tragedy in Parkland changed the United States forever. Since then, the brave survivors of the shooting and students all over the county have organized to say enough is enough! These high school heroes are standing together in solidarity all throughout the country to make sure that not one more child has to feel fear in a place of learning and opportunity; a place where they should feel the safest. I am so proud of the youth of South Florida who chose Miami Beach as the place to hold our local March for Our Lives demonstration to end gun violence forever.
We decided to give plogging a try at our latest Run with Ricky as we jogged through the Collins Park and Bayshore neighborhoods. Whats plogging? It is only the latest Swedish fitness craze that has runners picking up litter as they zoom around town! We also had a very special presentation by Savino Miller, the architecture firm that is designing our future world-class Par 3 Park! Thank you to all the neighbors who came out to learn about the different projects going on in the community and a special thank you to the Bayshore HOA and Collins Park Neighborhood Association which hosted our run.
We’re so proud of our City that we want to make sure everyone gets a chance to see it! The City recently rolled out its film incentive grant program in an effort to attract movies, shows, and music videos to be filmed in our pristine island paradise. The program awarded its first $10,000 grant to ABC Studios new show, the Grand Hotel! The show’s pilot is set in the Fontainebleau Hotel and is centered around a Latino-owned and operated Miami Beach hotel.
The National Civic League (NCL) has chosen Miami Beach to be a finalist in its All-America City competition. The NCL recognizes culturally diverse cities that find innovative solutions to problems while emphasizing civic engagement and community building. The NCL will choose the 2018 winner during its June conference in Denver, Colorado. I know well win this together!
